Things that go bump in the night..
Maybe Filipinos just cant ply flane
Ping.
Thanks for posting this one Dog.
I am not gonna go there
I consider it suspicious when an agricultural application aircraft does not crash.
A college roommate of mine considered becoming a crop duster pilot. Back then in the early 70’s they were getting $50,000 a year. That was a huge salary.
He told me about the interview, it went really well. They liked him, he liked them, he liked the aircraft and the other pilots. He noticed that all the pilots were rather young, and asked to talk to the old pilots.
He decided against that career path when they told him, “We don’t have any old pilots...”
I think you could make a better case for Global Warming or watered-down gasoline.
Heavily modified by locals and flown in the mountains.
What could go wrong?
That’s different from here where almost all the ag pilots are very old and the industry is concerned that few young pilots are getting involved.
I have relatives who are Filipinos. The ONLY predominantly Christian nation in Asia (buggered by the “noisy” Muslim minority AND Commies in the South).
A couple of things to point out: the US have a SF base camp in the South, who are “training & assisting” the Philippine Army who are well know hard core fighters.
In PHil newspapers account, even FBI counter-terrorism and Australian SAS are known to operate in the area, so the MILF and ABu Sayyaf are surrounded. The oNLY way they get help is from islamic Asian nations like Indonesia or Malaysia. And the CIA HQ Asia is located in Manila. So those Islamists are operating in smaller cells to avoid detection from even the PNP (Phil Natl Police) who “by legend” introduced torture to the CIA in the 1950’s.
It could be the same cohort of pilots who were they young pilots in 1972...
Ain’t that near THAILAND?
FYI ping
BTTT
Thanks for the ping, O.
Rather curious, isn’t it?
Side note: my father (now 91 years old) spent most of WWII on Mindanao.
I guess so: that’s kind of amusing to think about.
Interesting post(s). Belated WELCOME ABOARD, max!
As is the case, and has been the case, in most places in the US for a while.
Sounds like your roommate was pulling your leg, null and void!
He well could have been.
