Duncan Hunter, arepresentative in Congress for Southern California and Republican presidential candidate in 2008, seems to hardly have ever met an environmental cause that he gave a damn about. In fact, in 2006, Congressman Hunter didnt meet a single piece of environmental legislation that he was willing to support. His rating in the League of Conservation Voters National Environmental Scorecard for 2006 was zero percent. Duncan Hunter didnt vote in favor of keeping the environment clean one single time.
That kind of extremist, stubborn refusal to act as a steward of the Earth has no place in the White House in this time of escalating environmental crisis. (Source: League of Conservation Voters, National Environmental Scorecard, 2006)

Well, unlike some of the candidates, Hunter has never been bamboozled by the Goracle or any of his flying monkeys.

I presently support Thompson, but it’s this type of thing that makes you want to vote for Hunter....

Well maybe he won’t get the nomination but he damn well deserves a spot in the next Administration if not on the ticket...for this alone. :-)

I do not understand why Hunter isn’t getting more support. The only thing I can think of is that people really don’t believe a true conservative CAN win.

That is just another reason why I'm not ashamed to have sent Rep. Hunter some money before it became obvious that he wasn't going to catch on at all.
If only there had been more like me,....

I surely agree that not caving in to (or, worse, being one of) the Gorebal Warming Priests is relevant. For example, Giuliani has drunk that Kool-Aid, as has Huckabee. Mitt was a half-raised hand on the issue at the recent debate.
How do Thompson, Romney and McCain do on those sorts of scores? (Maybe Romney has no score as he wasn’t in Congress.)

It’s time for a pool on Hunter’s withdrawal date, and who he will endorse.
He’s a good man and will do a good job in a cabinet position.

Duncan Hunter did wear a green uniform.
He (Duncan Hunter)served in South Vietnam from 1970 to 1971 during the Vietnam War in the Army Rangers’ 75th Ranger Regiment, attached to the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He participated in 24 helicopter assaults as well as in small-number, night-time reconnaissance patrols. He held the rank of First Lieutenant, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, and service ribbons such as the Vietnam Service Medal. He has said, “I didn’t do anything special in the U.S. Army, but I served with very special soldiers I will never forget.”

The League of Conservation Voters does not like Thompson either. From their website.
In the Senate, Sen. Thompson racked up a long list of anti-environmental votes. During his eight years in the Senate, Sen. Thompson voted against numerous important funding measures, including funding to protect fish and wildlife, repair aging infrastructure in national parks and forests and clean up toxic waste at Superfund sites. Voted for trade legislation that failed to address key environmental provisions in 2002. Voted against a funding increase for accelerating toxic waste cleanups at Superfund sites in 1998. In addition, Sen. Thompson voted several times to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
In his own words Thompson on energy and global warming: Some people think that our planet is suffering from a fever. Now scientists are telling us that Mars is experiencing its own planetary warming: Martian warming. It seems scientists have noticed recently that quite a few planets in our solar system seem to be heating up a bit, including Pluto. NASA says the Martian South Poles ice cap has been shrinking for three summers in a row. Maybe Mars got its fever from earth. If so, I guess Jupiters caught the same cold, because its warming up too, like Pluto. This has led some people, not necessarily scientists, to wonder if Mars and Jupiter, non signatories to the Kyoto Treaty, are actually inhabited by alien SUV-driving industrialists who run their air-conditioning at 60 degrees and refuse to recycle. Silly, I know, but I wonder what all those planets, dwarf planets and moons in our SOLAR system have in common. Hmmmm. SOLAR system. Hmmmm. Solar? I wonder. Nah, I guess we shouldnt even be talking about this. The science is absolutely decided. Theres a consensus. Ask Galileo.

I have been polled several times here in NH on the republican candidates. Hunter’s name has never come up in the list that is rattled off.
I have said you didn't mention Duncan Hunter. Their answer
is. Oh he is not on our list. Go figure

I liked Hunter before, and even more now. The guy has the stones not to kowtow to the Global Warming alarmists.
Why the hell is he getting no traction???
To: Astronaut
Several reasons. Lack of a campaign staff to speak of. Neglect by the MSM. And even more neglect by the supposed conservative media. All translating into a lack of funds.

I call it the circle of stupidity. "I won't support him because he won't win because I won't support him."
Help break the circle of stupidity by sending the Hunter campaign a small donation.

Hunter’s my first choice with Thompson as VP. But ya know what? Flipping that works for me too.
Not as ideal but what other combination out there IS ideal this time?
