It’s similar to the Democrats who promote and support the homos same-sex marriage crowd, but would not want to have an openly homo married guy as their candidate for US President.

Gov. Huckabee is a great Baptist Pastor. He has a big lovable open heart worthy of praise and respect.

But elevating a Christian salesman (for lack of a better word) to the pinnacle of power in the Republican Party, and to the top of the United States via the White House, would play into the most paranoid stereotypes in the analytical media, not to mention within the GOP itself.

Besides, preachers just don’t make good politicians. Yes, they have empathy and are good hearted and kind. But in today’s rough and tumble world, having a Southern Baptist representing the GOP would push many conservatives into the no-vote category.

And many liberals into fired-up mode.

A Huckabee candidacy would cause a 49-state Democrat sweep in ‘08.

The only state that would go for Huckabee is Arkansas, and even THAT might not occur by time the Huckster is sliced and diced up this summer.
