What do you do that your employer feels it necessary to waste money and time (money) on such non-essential training?

Good question. I am accounting manager for a lumber company. The CEO is heavily invested in the idea of sustainability. He wants our corporate culture to reflect that idea. Hence, all of us present at corporate headquarters when the presentation started were instructed to sit in. I am on board with the bosses ideas on responsible forest stewardship but I wish he would draw the line at the kind of hogwash we were fed today.

For your industry, I could see the need for education regarding stewardship. It is called “CONSERVATION”. Not global warming propoganda. The company that produced that training would love nothing better than to see all lumber companies out of business. How odd.
