"Its one thing to say a candidate has a few issues. Its quite another to say hes not a conservative. That is a full frontal political assault."
I like Fred's candor.
Saddle up!

The Drive-By Media is salivating to have this preacher with a disastrously inconsistent political record be our nominee, so Hillary! will have a cakewalk. Ain’t going to happen. Fred’s completely right, as usual.

Just like any other greasy Arkansas politician.

Fred Thompson: You’re talking about Huckabee? No.”

Huckster is a Dixiecrat, and buddies with that sleazeball Clinton. The only discipline he ever learned was to push away the plate after 2 helpings of dessert. And that only recently.
GO FRED!

Its one thing to say a candidate has a few issues. Its quite another to say hes not a conservative. That is a full frontal political assault.
It's nothing compared to the full frontal self-exposure of that fact Huckabee has been engaged over the last few weeks.
Okay, I know. Bad image. Still, what else do you call his performance on the last debate and his handling of national security and foreign policy questions since?
Brody's missing the point. The question isn't whether the Mike Huckabee's campaign can withstand a double team from Thompson and Romney. The question is whether Mike Huckabee's campaign can withstand Mike Huckabee.
To: gpapa
Fred was interviewed by Hannity the other day and made the same point. I hope conservatives are paying attention and will want to get more information about Huckabee’s record, before they follow him right off the cliff.
To: dixiechick2000
Fred may be the only one that could pull off what I think would be the nomination and election in one 'debate'
While driving home tonight from caroling with our church, I was listening to the news and just letting my mind float around, and a fantasy popped in ...
The stage is full of all the Republican candidates, and whoever is the questioner finishes with all the 'rules' .. says "Let's get started ... "
And before any question is asked .. Fred interjects (or ANY man with a brass pair) and says something like,
"y'know ... America looks on these things as farces ... they aren't debates ... so WE'LL (important to unify) just debate ... and if the network has any sense .. it'll keep us on ... Sen. McCain, you're a senator, why does the senate continually hold up good legislation and argue non essential bills?"
or something like that.
Just ... SOMEbody cut off the questioner and actually LEAD a real debate.
No network would DARE to cut it off.
