Aide: Candidate to take money and 'try to spread the message of freedom'
Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul has received a $500 campaign donation from a white supremacist, and the Texas congressman doesn't plan to return it, an aide said Wednesday.
Don Black, of West Palm Beach, recently made the donation, according to campaign filings. He runs a Web site called Stormfront with the motto, "White Pride World Wide." The site welcomes postings to the "Stormfront White Nationalist Community."
People incharge of La Raza don’t have a track history of like the Nazis who committed the Holocast and then deny it every happen.
They don’t dress in White Robes of the KKK Terrorizing and Lynching minorities if they get out of line.
I read the article and the entire thread. Seems to me like the only thing Paul is guilty of is not using some of his $18,000,000 fundraising account to hire a competent campaign chief like Hillary has.
When you are finally caught taking money from a Chinese financier like Norman Hsu who funneled max campaign contributions to you through poor Chinese delivery food immigrants, just give the money back and express your outrage in a statement.
Paul and his campaign are either too principled or too stupid to do that. Sue him and everyone in his campaign for being retarded.
Enough of that damn spam.
Sorry, don’t taze me bro. It was just a joke. Trying to give everyone a chuckle and break up the monotony.
Actually there is little benefit for Paul to acknowledge this type of controversy. His critics know they are playing the smear game, and they would love nothing better than for him to grab the tarbaby they are loudly waving about. Paul has lengthy history of the issues that interest him, and it hasn't included the racial goals of Stormfront.
Yes, there is a lot of support for Paul on Stormfront. I've seen it for myself, and don't quite get why they love him so much,
If Paul had a history of making race an issue, Stormfront's support wouldn't be curious at all. But he doesn't, so it's curious. Politics is the realm of dirty tricks, and sometimes things aren't as they appear on the surface. In politics you sometimes need to ask 'cui bono?'.
Ron Paul sure doesn't benefit from having Stormfront's "support", but someone who seeks to marginalize him would. Say you wanted to derail Paul's campaign because you found his isolationist views threatening. Attacking him for being isolationist might backfire by attracting more attention to a policy you despise. You could get rid of him once and for all by linking him to neo-nazis. Some well placed 'donations' might just ensure Stormfront's ardent support for a candidate whom you wish to get rid of.
Actually you just tell the press that you gave the money back, and then the matter is dropped. No one ever sees the cancelled checks for any of these 'returned donations', as far as I can remember.
True. Sheeple have short memories.
“If Paul spends this money on his campaign hes no better than the racist who donated it.”
This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. If the American Cancer Society spends money donated by a Neo-Nazi, are they just as bad as Neo-Nazis? Returning campaign contributions is empty political posturing.
Oh yeah?
Yer a DOODY head!
My goodness. How rude!
The key word is "taking".
Stormfront gave him the $500.
Yes, that’s very plausible. I don’t keep an eye on Stormfront or the Klan so I’m not up on their current enthusiasms. I’ve just become leery over the years of people who accuse conservatives of having neo-nazi sympathies, and don’t trust their motives.
We used to have a contingent here who routinely used the Southern Poverty Law Center as their source for slandering a whole range of conservatives whom they didn’t like. You couldn’t have a discussion on illegal immigration without them descending in a pack and disrupting the thread with charges of racism. Many a good poster got banned due to their malign influence. Fortunately they moved over to WideAwakes, where they and the SPLC can Get Down with the Revolution, and hold trials for right wingers engaging in thoughtcrime.
