A more important development would be to give men the same authority in determining for themselves, whether they will become a parent. Currently the woman can take the decision for the man during a pregnancy, that she will carry to term and encumber him financially against his explicit wishes. While I am adamantly against abortion unless to save the actual life of the mother, fairness dictates a man should be able to perform a legal abortion should the woman decide to deliver, which would release him from financial liability and prohibit his involvement.

er, wouldn’t the same thing be accomplished by a paternity waiver, a legal document?
so you are saying the only fincancial obligation a man has is for 1/2 of the cost of an abortion if the woman takes the child to term...
(of course 1/2 the cost of an abortion also includes giving up 100% of all paternal rights and perogatives)
I always thought it was “interesting” that, a married couple is under no obligation by law to send their progeny to College. It’s their choice. However, if divorced, then anyone paying child support (typically male I suppose) is on the hook for a university education.
