Okay, having just returned from Russia I can say that Putin is very popular there. One should consider who it is attacking him — the same multinational corporate/foundation types who dislike conservatives in the USA.
Putin is a nationalist and it’s too bad we don’t have a leader like him in the White House.
You want a DICTATOR in the White House? May be the Russian cold weather have infected your brain, go see a doctor very soon.
You'll get your chance in '08, vote Ho She Marx and you'll get your wish!
I'm going to confiscate your house. Then I'll sell it to your neighbors. After which, I'll confiscate it from them, and sell it to the guy down the road. Then, I'll confiscate it again.
All your house are belong to Putin.
“Putin is a nationalist and its too bad we dont have a leader like him in the White House.”
Yes and no, and I agree the multinational corporations who had hoped to lock up russia’s natural resources are the big losers with Putin. He is most certainly a nationalist in that sense, and ON THIS TOPIC ONLY I would tend to be sympathetic.
That said, I do not want someone in the white house who blatantly has critics murdered, jury-rigs elections by restricting who can run, etc. That would be a very bad thing. Do you really want this to happen on that scale in the US?
Popular politicians are usually not good for the overall health of a nation.
Is the popularity corporate, the people, the political party.
Popularity means going with the flow and not pizzing off the hands that feed you.
Unpopular politicians are either the ones who accomplish nothing, or have great accomplishments at the expense of other populist movements.
The people of Russia are still very susceptable to being manipulated by dictatorial movements. Because they know nothing different.
You want a serial killer in the White House?
