Apparently General Petraeus, (Bill O’Reilly’s choice, as well as mine) did not merit consideration. Turning a lost war into a won war against a vicious enemy of America is not what TIME was looking for.

The thing is, The Surge was the biggest story of the year and Patraeus made it work. Should’ve been a no-brainer, but once again the press proves it has no brains.

O’Reilly is definitely right on this. It figures that Time would pick Putin, but Gore and Rowling (their runner-ups) are equally undeserving.

What idiotic criteria they must have used.

Of course not.

The gravest threat to an American victory in Iraq has not been al Qaeda or Iraqi terrorists.

It has been the liberal news media's constant efforts to undermine the morale of the U.S. Home Front.
