"Presently advises Thompson campaign. Apologies extended before hand. Only human."
-----
No, no. No apology necessary! I saw that he got 1% of the vote one year.
Thanks for letting me know that he advises Thompson. But other than that, (and this is just idle curiousity, so forgive me), do we know where he came from that he once ran for president? Was he a congresscritter? State assemblyman? Optomotrist? I've never heard of the guy.

OK, watched Thompson on Hannity tonight. A few observations
please:
1. He didn’t pinch his nose for the first time ever. Good.
2. Declined to wade in on Social Conservative issues and Promised to provide a “Advisory Opinion later”.
3. Need desperately to eradicate one word from his vocabulary.......AH,AH...Ah,ah.

It is a timing thing. This stuff swings wild. Fred will be OK. Many FReepers have tried to make up their mind on locale yet see themselves coming over. They know it.

If you had to distill conservatism in one sentence what would it be? Conservatism is believing in and working to conserve the constitutional, republican form of government established by the founding fathers.
It has nothing to do with "social" anything.

I was only playing, I truly don’t know who Morry is. I suspect many running in the republican field today will become a footnote.

How I wish you are right!
Will we have a get-together when he is in FL?
I could get a few folks to come from the east coast to Orlando or Daytona...any schedule yet?
Bush had one of his biggest rallies here, and the final candidate will probably repeat that feat.

If he'd only done this from the beginning? How do we know that would have been better strategy?
Fred saved much of his money and energy for the big push. Had he squandered both on voters during their fickle stage, he might not be in as good a position as he is now.
Fred is convinced the voters don't begin to pay the kind of attention that makes them SETTLE on a candidate until just before the election. So far he's been right because, up to now, the leaders have shifted and the support has been soft. Just maybe he really will peak at the right time. I'm as optimistic as I've ever been that it will happen.

I thought he did just fine. I can picture him in the Oval Office taking care of the Country. (No one else BTW)

" Well, we can say NO to Mike Huckabee! "
Just say NO ! to RINOS period.
Vote for Fred Thompson.

No problem with Fred running the country. However, one would expect a person with his Hollywood background could be just a bit better on the communication side. I’m really concerned that that one thing would cripple him in the General Election.

I don’t know if you were around for Reagan, but his trip to Iceland was supposed to be an idiot meeting the Russian head of state. Somebody got their butt kicked on a one-on-one and it wasn’t the US.
To: Ol' Sparky
If Fred had only done this from the beginning...I don't think it would have mattered. Most folks weren't paying attention, anyway.

Well, he is a improvement in that regard over George Bush, forgive me George, it's true.
To: eyedigress
I remember. Reagan was not only a great communicator but a wonderfully underestimated negotiator. Thankfully.
