I think news of Bat Boy et al will be hard to come by from now on, at least in the supermarket checkout line. I heard that Weekly World News is going to cease printing its hardcopy edition and is going to a strictly on-line format.
I had also heard that Weekly World News was really supposed to be a parody of the other tabloids, but that most of their readers never really got the joke.

Weekly World News was hilarious. Those guys who wrote it every week were comic geniuses. I hope they do well online. Can you imagine what their Christmas parties must be like?

Just goes to show you the mentality level of the people who actually spend money on the tabloids. Something about "a fool and his money are soon parted" come to mind.
As for me? Well, the only time I pay attention to the tabloids is when I'm killing time reading the stuff on the table while waiting for my turn at the nail salon. ;-)
