Three fatal shootings since Saturday have pushed San Francisco's murder total for the year to the highest level in more than a decade.

In the latest killing, a 24-year-old man died after being shot in the city's Hunters Point neighborhood Monday afternoon.

That murder follows the fatal shooting Saturday morning of two men who were gunned down in the city's Mission neighborhood.

For the year, the homicide total in San Francisco now stands at 97 - the city's most killings in more than a decade.

The last time the city had more than 97 homicides in one year was in 1995, when their were 104 murders.

Its all the sugar in soda making them fat. That is why the mayor announced yesterday he is going to tax them - he calls is a “fee”, a fat fee.

Oh, I am sure it will drop when they start taxing soda. Don’t higher taxes equal less death /snide-off

I wonder how the number of deaths by murder over the same time period compares with the number of deaths by HIV infections transmitted during bath house encounters.

So the murders couldn’t be drug related, right?

***Its all the sugar in soda making them fat.***

I thought it was the additives in hot dogs that did it. That is what the murderer of Harvy Milk and Mayor Moscone claimed. He was also a rep for Handgun Control Inc when he shot them.

I knew this would happen when they started closing down the gay bath houses. Nothing more dangerous than a entire city full of lovelorn old queens.

Yep. It's all them pissed off polar bears. They should have taken away the right to arm bears, too.

No, no — the sugar makes them fat which, in turn, makes them such tempting, easy targets for the firearms banned in SF.
