You’ve got it right... and I believe, knowing what I know about liberalism, that some of the roots of teaching evolution as fact is, indeed, to devalue human life and de-moralize the abortion issue. After all, if we are indeed made in the image of God, and he “knew you before He formed you in the womb”, then abortion would be universally viewed abhorrent instead of as a choice equivalent of having burgers or chicken for lunch.
Liberalism is about the absence of consequences for behavior. Start there, and most of their mindset starts to make sense.

I had to stop to get gas at a very unsavory part of the city last night. As I went in to pay there was a small child running around seemingly lost. I stepped to the end of the line again to keep my eye on this lost child cell phone in hand.
After about 5 more minutes his mother came out the bathroom. She didn’t even look for this baby, just yelled “come on boy!” Never kept her eye on him while she paid for her things. The child could have been snatched in a heartbeat. The child was more of an inconvenience I guess.

Leaving babies out in the cold, to die, is as old an act as mankind himself. It's well documented in most sociology texts. And, curiously, it is often used by the left as an age-old justification for abortion. Meaning, when man was virtually an animal he did the same thing. I seem to recall that Eskimos used to leave one of two twins to die in the cold because an Eskimo woman could not possibly care for, nurse, and carry two babies at once.
Don't get me wrong, I am on your side. Just want to set the record straight.
