A non denominational church with 10,000 members.
Sorry, to me this is a business folks, and not one interested in the benefits of the afterlife.
Because it has 10,000 members? What is an appropriate number of members for a church so that it does not, in your opinion, constitute a business? Is your opinion based on scripture at all?
I wouldn’t necessarily say that.
My sister belongs to a huge church now that not only puts on a fantastic Christmas and Easter show every year, but the pastor really supports proper Christian decorum.
He even kicked out 1 of his members, a trombone players with the orchestra for said shows - my sister’s friend’s now ex-husband - when the friend found out he had been blatantly cheating on her. (Having a shack-up with the woman on the side, everything.) Unlike so many today, he didn’t just simply counsel them out of it and make it seem like the man was put-upon (a popular sexist thing too, I might add). He went by the 10 Commandments.
I know this doesn’t mean all mega-churches are nice, but not all of them are bad. I’ve also known very small churches that really aren’t quite up to snuff.
You don’t really know that. So much judgement...
Do you go there?
I do, and I know you are wrong. You take 10,000 average citzens in this country, you will get a few bad eggs. Just look occasionally at some of the stupid comments some Freepers make, it doesn’t mean we are all stupid. This church is rock solid, but going thru a time of testing. But scripture is very clear, judgement starts with Gods people. If God is willing to deal harshly with His church, in this case New Life, think of what He will do to the world...
Sorry, to me this is a business folks
Amen! There's no way that a club with 10,000 members is a real church.
That's the way the shooter apparently felt. But that's for the parishioners to decide and act upon, not you.
If Jackboot Janet was still AG, she probably would, upon learning that they had GUNS in that church, have sic'd the BATFE and FBI HRT on the Church. For the Children of course. It would have saved the killer a lot of bother, and saved his life as well.
