You don’t have to apologize for the music, though.

Well, I ain’t agonna apologize for any of that stuff, because I didn’t “do” any of it, and in fact opposed it and voted against those who supported it.

Nonsense. Reagan was a boomer?

I'm talking about the vets who flew the aircraft, sailed the ships, and drove the tanks eyeball-to-eyeball with the enemy during their Wonder Bread years.

WE didn’t put in place the “Great Society” or Medicaid. WE didn’t put the judges on the Supreme Court that decided “Roe”. WE weren’t the ones in power in DC that bungled both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. We weren’t the ones who broke the piggy bank. That was the “Greatest Generation” (Welfare, Medicare and Social Security).
***************************************************************

The “Greatest Generation” should really be called “the Statist Generation”
***************************************************************

If we’re playing “pin the tail on the donkey” here, then the generation that mindlessly supported FDR and his works are the ones that should carry the can - the parents of the “Greatest Generation”, folks born in the 19th Century, essentially.

The Clintons may be Boomers, but so is Duncan Hunter, who was born in 1948.

Leftists and those in the middle (of all ages) who didn’t see it happening.

Ah, finally, somebody who's been paying attention and gets it. Kudos, Mr. B.

Which generation was the victim of Abortion? And which generation had most of them?

Let me see ... Volunteered for Vietnam ... did one tour. Check

Worked my way thru 5 college degrees without one red cent of parental or government aid except for my GI bill (which I earned). Check

Paid far more into SS than I will ever get back. Check

Worked as an SDI (Star Wars) weapons designer for ten years. Check

Helped design the computers for many space probes including the Galileo space probe. Check

On design teams for the CPU in the MAC (G4) Centrino (Intel) and the CPU in the iPod and iPhone. Check

Have fought for and donated to conservative causes all my adult life. Check

Sorry ... I don't see anything here that I should apologize for ...

My Husband is a Gen-exer, was 24 y/o on the Fulda Gap with a 14 second life expectancy. Reagan was surely no Boomer.

Next.

We baby boomers only need to apologize for all of the brain dead hippies that turned into brain dead socialists that have been directly responsible for people like Bill Clinton and wife.

I agree with you completely. There are a few people more conservative than myself, who disagree vehmentally with most government policy, but not many.

Furthermore, I am probably the only authentic true Boomers on FreeRepublic. In fact, there are only 4 Boomers, of which I am aware, on the internet.

My username is my name.

Don’t forget the compassion for the criminal - that crap started in the 50’s - that pseudo-enlightened attempt to “understand” the juvenile delinquent.

Which generation was the victim of Abortion? And which generation had most of them?

_____________________________________

Your silly 'argument' prompts two thoughts...

Which generation put the abortion laws in place?

Since you posit that having an abortion is driven by the generation into which one was born, do we then expect abortions to come to a screeching halt as 'boomer' women exit the child-bearing years?

All this focus on generations is a lazy and prejudicial way of looking at things.

It makes it easy to blame someone else for your problems.

If Boomers have ruined the generations following them, someone must have "ruined" the Boomers, right? May they in turn blame their upbringing and environment for their failures?

We can play that game forever.

Vietnam and the Great Society are the product of Boomer’s parents and grandparents at their voting Zenith.

Most boomers were not hippies or draft dodgers....they were more like the Osmonds.

Most girls were not promiscuous and most boomers did not take dope till the latter boomers born past 1953 or so.

And today boomers vote more conservative than any other age defined demographic except their parents who survive.

That boomers were self absorbed and spoiled I will cop to....they were the first post depression born generation.
