Thanks for that leadership, Mr President!
I can’t use a working mercury free lightbulb by law? I might buy a load of them just to spite.
Bush is a centrist, globalist....I expect nothing more from him.
At least see if they’re made in America, before you buy out the display. ;)
I’ll hide my incandescent bulbs inside my high-flow toilet.
He would do more, but Nixon already created Earth Day.
I put this right up there with the 2 flush toilets. Any studies on the safety of exposure of FL all the time? I’ll have to check. I think I’ll stock some bulbs just because I can.
The Congress is trying to pass, and the President is about to sign, a law that puts us all under flourescent bulbs. Their excuse: man-made global warming, which is a scam.
I hope the people who work in GE and Phillips light bulb plants are happy that their jobs are being sent over to China.
When they pry it from my cold dead fingers.....
Please no “Dim Bulb” jokes.
Sure you can. Use halogen blubs. I started replacing all my incandescent blubs with halogen a long timne ago because they give off a cleaner/whiter light with less wattage than incandescent blubs.
>This will get us in line with the rest of the advanced industrial world in moving toward more efficient lighting,” says Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., chairman of the Senate Energy committee and author of the Senate measure requiring the tougher standards.
gosh, what other people think is so-o-o-o-o important.
we should always make all of our government policy decisions and,
of course, our personal comrade decisions, in
lock step with what others think.
Analyze your bulb usage and, based on your age, project your bulb needs for the rest of your life. Then, stock up so you will never run out.
I may buy a truckload. Gonna be another wonderful blackmarket opportunity, like the one from Canada with the good flushing toilets instead of the “low flow” crappers....
Compact fluorescents don’t work in lava lamps. Now THAT’S a quandary!
I've been using these things for a while, and this just plain is a lie. If they are used in a closed fixture, then their life is LESS than an incandescent because they do not tolerate heat. If they are used BASE UP even in an open fixture, then their life is a bit more than an incandescent - again because of heat issues. ONLY if they are used base down in an open fixture is their life anywhere close to the six times incandescent as advertised, and a significant percentage of them develop a loud obnoxious 60 herz hum partway through their life, and although they still give off light, if the noise bothers you, then you have to replace them. Another problem is that they dim considerably over their life. At the end of their life I'd estimate that they're putting out about 70% 75% of the light that they do when they're new. Incandescents do this too, but it doesn't seem to be as much. The final thing is that they frequently fail by catching fire inside the base. I've come in to a room with one of the out and a burnt insulation stench and a faint haze of smoke in the air on more than one occasion.
King George II is a vast disappointment (and I had low expectations)
You can summarize the story in your own words, you know.
And people wonder why Ron Paul gets rabid followers....um, here is about reason #16
