Sadly, I hate to say it, but the Iranian nutcase is right. Bush may have had better instincts and may not have wanted things to turn out this way, but he has so little control over the people who are theoretically under him that whatever he wants is a moot point.
The left want us to become the next Islamic hell-hole, and Bush doesn’t have (and never has had) the guts or the vision to oppose the left.

How can you sit there, while our troops are winning in Iraq and Afghanistan, and nearly every single person in DC and the media and world governments against him and say with a straight face that George Bush doesn't have the guts or vision to oppose the left!?!?!

When Bush pushed for 'the surge' after a stinging defeat, when Bush pushed for Petraes' confirmation....there weren't even very many people on FR who supported him against the left.
He's totally belittled and neutralized the Pelosi congress...and what exactly is Reid beating Bush on these days. Bush maybe had the help of Mitch McConnell and Boehner on his side during that time, and that was about it.
If anyone related these accomplishments to you in December 2006, you'd have thought it was from the Onion.
