Sorry I’ve been so long getting back to you. Just got up from a nap a little bit ago.

The dog food I use is EVO The Ancestral Diet. It has less than 15% carbohydrate and no grains. Contains, beef, buffalo, lamb and venison.

The company is Natura. and they guarantee no melamine and no cyanuric acid.

the website is:

http://naturapet.com/

They also make the same kind of food for cats.

I think there may be some agreement among all of us that we really do need to secure the border, with an adequate border fence and the rest before we start negotiating what could amount to spending billions of dollars and the possible citizenship of millions who have decided for themselves that they have the right to be citizens just because they are alive and made it here.

Are we really an independent nation when we give up the right to determine who can immigrate here and who cant?

Its almost futile to negotiate with those coming across the border at will before the border is secured.

That’s akin to doing what the dems want us to do in Iran.
Negotiate with Iran “before” they stop trying to build a nuclear bomb, that too makes little sense.

There aren’t too many places around here to get buffalo; sometimes we just have to compromise.

I caught the end of the Edwards interview with Schieffer. It really was a campaign commercial.

I realized while watching Tim Russert interrogate Mitt Romney today that Republicans are asked to defend against accusations of past behaviors, while Dems are asked about their vision for the future.

The sound bites that come from such interviews must be worth millions to the Dems. I'm not sure that Republicans should even go on those shows during the primary season.

This is becoming a real dilemma for Republican candidates.

Ah, er, chiller ...

If you think charging a fair amount for advertising is a "tax" you are beyond reason and beyond help. Care to take a poll here to see how Freepers judge this one?

I'd side with CNS in that poll.

Advertise on a private venue and the amount charged is a rate.

Advertise in a government-operated monopoly created via the force of law, like official state highway signage on an Interstate freeway, and it's a financial charge (fee or tax, take your pick) required from and for the government, and therefore is a form of taxation.

Your logic means everything that costs money is a tax.

Your deduction defies logic. Money I pay voluntarily to a private enterprise is commonly called a rate, a fee, a price, a charge. Money forced from me by the government to obtain a place in their system, be it drivers' license "fees" or "permits" to be included on generic freeway offramp signs, profits the government and therefore is a tax.

Hi all .. hectic weekend. Missed all the shows, but thanks to your great critiques, I have a good idea of what happened:

Fred's a loser, stage setting by all (especially BJC) about the horror of the EvilShe losing Iowa to get out the panicked rats, Huck's the great white hope, and Mitt's a religious fanatic. They'll never change their liberal, driveby stripes. They really think they're directing the outcome of this election.. LOL. Minds full of mush, we are.

McCain's insistence on withholding whatever it takes to extract vital info quickly in those cases where lives CAN be saved is idiotic, when our very own troops go through this extreme treatment in their own training to baptize them in the realities of war ... drives me nutz.

Anyone who got to see National Geographic's Rescue Warriors: Band Of Brothers about the US Air Force pararescue troops early this am... would see CLEARLY ... what these brave warriors go through in their training. I urge everyone .. if you ever see it replayed, make sure you watch it. It's compelling, and much of it the libs would definitely consider torture, the twisted freaks. I guess it's OK for our troops .... but make sure we're so very gentle with savage terrorists.

These highly trained and specialized troops go through extreme training for rescue operations, as well as combat .. water choking and horrible discomfort included. It's part of the training, because they have to be prepared to rescue and treat victims everywhere .. including in hostile land and water environments. They're put through routine discomfort in their training, as any thinking person knows.

Pararescue Videos: HERE

and HERE

At one point, the instructor, who was angry at the lack of efficiency of one of these particular troops, had them all get in a sodden mud pit, fully clothed, and sprayed them and their "patients" on the ground with ice cold water from the hose, outside in 30 degree temps, while the pj was shaking and trying to get an iv line into the patient. All the while, the instructor is barking orders, while berating and belittling his efforts. They must be able to take care of business efficiently and save victims, under great pressure... it's their mission, for goodness sakes.

At the very least, what our troops endure to teach and toughen them up in training for battle should certainly be allowed on our sworn enemies to save lives.

The Pararescue Jumper motto says it all to me: That Others May Live

Baseball I deduce is the same as soccer to the Brits many men and women cannot function without their daily dose.

No baseball here. I have to satisfy my cravings by watching Liverpool vs. ManU and Chelsea vs. Arsenal today.

Nope, it’s a mix of Kale and mashed potatoes with a smoked sausage next to it. I read about it, looked it up, and it looked good so I decided to try it. It was good too. We will make it again in the future.

Sure gives mashed potatoes a different flavor. It’s a hearty winter meal from what I read and I figured that would be good in Denver yesterday.

Don't agree for a couple of reasons. First, we pay nothing for this service. The businesses who voluntarily choose to advertise there pay that bill. We are not forced to patronize those businesses and the fee was raised in part to cover the costs of making and posting the signage, which the old fee barely covered.

Choice voids your trickle down, businesses-don't-pay-taxes-but-pass-them-on-to-the-consumer justifications for calling that a tax.

Secondly, let's move that signage 50 yards off the road to private property. Is that billboard a tax? Only in your distorted view of taxes. There is no difference; the property owner charges a fee to advertise on their property. The government owns the freeway right of way and therefore plays the same role as the private property billboard.

But, if you want to call it a tax, implying its costs are forced upon us, be my guest. There is clearly a distinction--that primarily being choice--why do you not wish to acknowledge it? Romney haters?
