Minuteman co-founder James Gilchrist's endorsement of presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has spurred a backlash among illegal-immigration opponents who say the former Arkansas governor is soft on immigration enforcement. "Mike Huckabee is pro-amnesty and favors a path to citizenship for illegal aliens currently in the U.S. that would require a lifting of current penalties," said William Gheen, whose 25,000-member Americans for Legal Immigration sent mass mailings yesterday to more than 300 pro-enforcement groups.

Hillary and the Democrats are laughing. Their opponents the Republicans will nominate either Huckabee a pro amnesty and big government guy or they will nominate Rudy a pro-choice and pro amnesty guy. Either if nominated will split the Republican vote in the general election handing the election to the Democrats No conservatives should support these two DBM put-ups.You are entitled to your opinion. Mine is that either is way better than any of the dimocRAT alternatives. I will vote for the Republican nominee. Pure disaster otherwise.
Yes, I'm entitled to my opinion and apparently I didn't communicate it correctly. I will further qualify what I said.
No conservatives should support these two DBM put-ups...in the primaries.
I hope that clarifies it.

"The Great Contragolpe" (Backlash) against the "Open Borders for Jesus" camp begins--in earnest. Huck is about as likely to get my vote as another Bush is.

The Huckster is quite likeable and he snookered Jim Gilchrist big time. Let’s hope he doesn’t snooker enough Iowans to give him momenum in New Hampshire.

I personally think (oops, here goes a big over generalization) that discerning New Hampshire-ites will undoe anything done earlier by naive Iowans, snookered by this chameleon.

Add North Korea and China to your list as to why "Huck" is "bad news".
They would easily and with great savvy roll that guy easier than a lights-out drunk in a stinky, dank Baltimore tenement alleyway.

Sell out America’s sovereignty for Jesus?
I don’t think so. He loves this country.

Nor in the general election. It'll be like having Bush all over again, pushing amnesty and massive spending. Let's not be sheep, mindlessly ignoring principles and values, following the GOP over a cliff.

You probably should add that Mike Huckabee is the two term Republican governor from Arkansas. Huckabee seems to have the distinction in your list.

If his post was “mindless” then your post is clueless. The Republicans had 6 whole years to secure the border, control spending, etc.

If his post was mindless then your post is clueless. The Republicans had 6 whole years to secure the border, control spending, etc. We've got Republican candidates right now running in the primary who are anti-amnesty and control spending candidates. If they can't win the primaries based on those positions, then the problem is not with the Republican party, the problem instead is with the voters.
Any so-called control spending, anti amnesty candidate who doesn't run in the Republican party and then instead runs only as a third party candidate is a candidate who isn't trying to win and is a candidate who will hand the White House back to a Clinton.
You get?
Probably not.

Huck’s a moron and a flake. It’s dismaying that so many conservatives fall for his pseudo-preacher line of bullshit.
