Honoring Heroes at the Holidays to be in New York, Sunday, December 16th
* Honoring Heroes at the Holidays * - Holiday Cards for the Troops! -
Gathering of Eagles is proud to announce the Move America Forward caravan will arrive in New York City on Sunday, December 16th, at 1 pm, culminating their 16 state cross country caravan collecting Holiday Cards for our young men and women serving overseas this Holiday season. If you did not have an opportunity to greet the caravan in your state, take advantage of this opportunity to send cards to the troops!
Let's pull out all the stops and get as many cards as possible written and delivered to them on their arrival here.
Time is short. two days left to get cards written and mailed to arrive in New York so let's get a move on!
****************************************************** Instructions for preparing cards: 1.Write an appropriate supportive holiday message to a soldier on the card. 2. Sign the card (with a return address if you want a thank you from the troops) 3.Do NOT seal the envelope. 4.Hand drawn cards can be folded without an envelope and addressed as below. 5.Address the card as follows depending on the card inside: ·Christmas Card for Our Troops ·Holiday Card for Our Troops ·Hanukkah Card for Our Troops
Place the individual cards into a larger envelope or box and bring to the rally on December 16th or address and mail them by December 14th to:
Honoring Heroes at the Holidays c/o The Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmans Club 283 Lexington Avenue New York, NY 10016
******************************************************
There will be a large rally in New York City to welcome the caravan at Zuccotti (Liberty) Park, Liberty Street and Church Street by the World Trade Center site starting at 1 pm on Sunday, December 16th. Please plan to attend with your family and friends to deliver your cards personally! Cards will be available at the park to fill out and mail to the troops!
We will all enjoy the comfort of friends and family this season while our young military men and women will be serving far away from home. Let's take a little time now to show them that we are thinking about them and supporting the fine job they are doing for us around the world!
My friend, who collaborates with GOE, sent me this in an e-mail a few days ago.
I think their needs to be a specific addressee in your letter/card though.

Anyone seen this? Pass it around.
God Bless them all!
Wish I had the tools to watch it on my computer.
Aides to Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., are offering to accept letters, screen them through the U.S. Capitol mail operation, and get them to members of the armed forces.
To send one through Senator Sessions' office, you must include the notation "Christmas Cards for Our Troops," sending it to:
U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions
335 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20510-0104
Attention: Christmas Cards for Our Troops
Thank you Senator Sessions!!!
YOU are one of only 3 worth anything in the Senate.
God Bless you, sir and have a very Merry Christmas!
No, this is not the case with these cards. No names are required. You may write Hero, Troop, Service Member, Military Member or leave blank.
MAF are handling the mailing and delivery of the cards with respect to this article.
The Soldiers and Sailors' Club is a great New York-American Institution.
It provides low cost, temporary accomodation to servicemen and women returning home.
It's also where the NYYR Club meets every month.
I think we should all be thankful that there are men like him-as well as Inhofe, Coburn, Barrasso, DeMint and Vitter-still left in an otherwise unremarkable institution.
Bumping this thread
Anybody know if this is still going on, despite possible adverse weather for tomorrow?
THANK YOU for the link to that great article. I did not know this existed. Awesome!
Q: In closing, sir, what would you like to say to our men and women now serving in the armed services?
A: Well, first of all, I do that everyday of my life that the Good Lord gives me, I say something good to them. However, if I could speak to the general public, I would tell them to listen to our soldiers, hear what they have to say, be understanding and compassionate.
You know, the irony in all of this is that they enlisted, so they are where they want to be, they went there for our country. I do not have to tell them to hang in there because I know they will, but they have asked me to tell everyone to hang in there, get behind them, and support them.
Do you hear that CONgress???
Hey, THANKS!!! ;*)
GOE doesn't seem like the type of organization that will be deterred by a little inclement weather-even the horrible weather we've had in NYC for the past couple of weeks.
Hi Justa! I LOVE Sen. Sessions! He tells it like it is....I just love when he uses facts to challenge the Dims on the Senate floor. I’m sorry I can’t vote for him, but, a while ago, I sent donation for his reelection campaign.
If only we had A LOT more Senators like Sessions!
YES!!!!!
I just spoke with the MAF folks. They are just arriving at their hotel now.
The rally will be held regardless of weather!
Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet...will keep them from their mission!
Have a great time!
.
If only we had A LOT more Senators like Sessions!
Absolutely! 80 more like Senators Sessions, Coburn and Inhofe and we may save the Republic.
“Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet...will keep them from their mission!”
HUGS and thanks y’all!
THANKS TROOPS!
I'm going to try and head out there early, although I don't know how well mass transit is going to be running tomorrow.
