Now the money sucks for two reasons, Boehner said in a Politico interview. People are mad at the president; they are mad at the party. And then [there is] this whole immigration fight. People just turned off the spigot.
Boehner has undertaken a study, consulting corporate image experts, to re-brand the party. But so far, no big ideas have emerged. Some of his own colleagues regard Boehner as more of a transitional figure, between the Gingrich-DeLay era (in truth, both men drove Boehner to distraction) and the next generation of leadership.

“NOT ONE PENNY UNTIL I SEE A FENCE!!”
The Democrats control Congress. They aren’t going to fund a fence. Refusing to send money to the GOP in what way will persuade the majority Democrats to fund a fence?
Yes, the GOP was in power and did not fund it. That was in the past. The present is the Democrats have the power. The only function a minority party can have is to obstruct. If the minority becomes too small, it will not be able to obstruct.
Refusing money will shrink the minority. Perhaps if everyone refusing money to the GOP sent money to the DNC it would persuade the DNC to fund the fence. Anyone believe that? It is, after all, the next step in the 3-step process.
1) Fund the GOP
2) Refuse to fund the GOP
3) Fund the DNC
Is that what everyone is planning with their arms crossed across their chest?
Maybe Boehner could put the bite on the coyotes along the border. They're flush with cash and making money off Republican policies.
It's atleast partially funded. The executive branch ain't building it.
Build the fence. It's the law
Oh, they get alright. They just no longer give a damn about what American tax payers think or demand. That's the whole problem.
These government employees represent themselves and their own interest.
4) Fund individual Republicans who are not rinos.
In my decision to cut of any financial contributions to the "Stupid Party", Bush has very little to do with it, since he is not running in any elections.
The "Party", financial whoredom and this immigration insanity is about 95% of my displeasure.
Ahhh...the genius of Junior. I think this is strategery.
The Republican Party could save a lot of money if they’d just spend some time FReeping to see what we’re thinking. Here’s a hint: It’s the border, stupid!
Will you still be saying the same thing if Hillary becomes president?
I've Been around the block enough times not to be governed by fear.
Excellent quote!I think Boehner is K street jock strap sniffer!
They were warned loud and clear.
Well said!
I would imagine FreeRepublic could do it for what they will pay a consultant.
If any of you voted for Bush because he was a “front runner” and could “win”, then maybe this time you will vote on principle.
See my tagline for a definition of “front runner” ...
He finally admitted what the Republican National Committee has known for years.
He's finally admitted what Martinez has knew for years. He's finally admitted what the President has known for years.
The elephant piggy bank which is usually filled with contributions from the conservative base is empty.
I don't think that any of the aforementioned really give a damn that the spigots of we peons out here in fly-over country have been turned off.
The administration became detached from us and we sent our money elsewhere or bought clothes.
Good guys like Boehner are stuck with this mess......and it's too late to do much about it, isn't it, Mr. President.
The seven year-old "New Tone" didn't raise a cent for the Republicans, did it?
Leni
“voted for Bush”

Now: roody v. hildabeast?
