"The problem in our church [national] is about the lack of respect for the authority of scripture and the nature, character and work of Jesus Christ," said Curran, an Episcopal priest for 15 years. "It's about the failed leadership of The Episcopal Church and whether or not we will continue to be under the authority of a failed leadership. And for many of us, the answer is no."

My daughter’s father-in-law is an AMiA bishop.
It helps having a rock-ribbed conservative Pope. Benedict is doing very well in my opinion, not that my opinion counts for much.
He is very solid. I pray he stays around a long time.
I wonder why someone (who has money) does not start a foundation to help people take back their churches. Surely there is a way to do that instead of just leaving. I suspect many people are just afraid to confront the rhetoric of the lefties and can’t argue with them. Really all they need to do is say NO NO and NO. Leaving is to easy.
What are you talking about?????
Ill pray for you.
Save an "amen" for yourself, brother. Better yet, save one for your psychiatrist. He's had to hire an apprentice.
Both the ECUSA and the PCUSA have a national tactic of scorched earth litigation. The most notable current litigation involves a number of former Episcopal churches in northern Virginia who followed the process set out by the local bishop, and were still sued. (They sue not only the corporate body, but some individual members of the church).
Also of note is the litigation surrounding the former PCUSA church in Tulsa, Oklahoma (Kirk of the Hills) that left for the Evangelical Presbyterian church. That litigation has been ongoing for a little over a year.
Two Presbyterian churches in California appear to have settled litigation this week, at a cost of some $600,000. The former Episcopal church in Savannah, Ga, was sued a few weeks ago.
So your 'just say no' strategy is unlikely to work.
I can dig out some more litigation related info, if you need it.
obviously leaving is problematical. why cant they take back the church. That was my point. Dont leave but fight to regain control.
A good plan if you have a spare $500,000 or so to pay the lawyers.
