Romney is smooth. Huckabee is a little weasel whose only strong point is abortion and who will talk his way into a corner if left to his own defenses, but by golly, those “burn the abortionists and their supporters at the stake” types just don’t care. He’s basically the exact same candidate as Sam Brownback.
Limbaugh hemmed and hawwed today when asked why he didn’t mention Huckabee’s awful comments as of late, or the fact that a Huckabee candidacy would likely sink the GOP into an abyss of smarmy preacher-religious turmoil.
Well, Rush FINALLY got off the freakin’ dime and said, in a round about way, that Mitt Romney was taking the high road and that Romney would be much more popular with the conservative base as GOP candidate for US prez.
Limbaugh clearly doesn’t want to take sides THIS early, but if the Huckabee boom isn’t stopped, it WILL be a boom.
A big KA-BOOM ..... for the entire Republican Party as it blows up with accusations (credible ones) that Repubs are soooo intertwined with Huckabee type religious dogma that they don’t know which way is up.
As a staunch Bible believing Baptist, I must say that I have been sick in my stomach every since Huckabee has been PUSHED to the top.
Both national pollsters, Gallup and Zogby, would love nothing better than to see the GOP go KA-BOOM.

Strong words, but my sentiments (almost) exactly.
Huckabee would send this wonderful GOP party into the abyss of smarmy bickering through the entire '08 election cycle, if he wins.
I've been sick to my stomach ever since he moved up so high in the polls.
Firstly, a Baptist Preacher just does not a US President make.
And this is petty, but I just can't get past that LAZY EYE thing Huckabee has...
I know it's juvenile, but I fully believe Americans and the world want a strong-faced rock-ribbed tried and true leader... a business leader, a family values leader... and a telegenic person who is able to inspire and motivate.
THAT is Mitt Romney.
Huckabee is a soft-spoken backroom type politician, NOT an out front charismatic leader.
And I also love the fact that Romney has converted on some of the issues I consider most important in America.
After all, that is what politics is ALL ABOUT -- converting people to your point of views.
