I had cancelled my SF Gayrhonicle, Slime and Newsweak before I found Free Republic. After about a year of pledging $5/month, I upped my pledge to the $/Day pledge.
A $/day or $30/month was about what I used to waste on the above liberal fishwrap and mags.
Free Republic is the best source for regional, national and international news. With the daily toons, there is no need for the old liberal and out of date paper pseudo news.
So your suggestion is great. If Freepers donated their monthly savings on their cancelled subscriptions for fishwraps and news mags, there would be no need for Freepathons.
:’D CNN has taken over the partisan shill duties of Rather and the late Jennings; meanwhile Oprah is out campaigning for Obama and Katie has moved to CBS evening news, leaving behind (I guess, since I don’t watch) the reprehensible Ann Curry to shill for the PLO etc. Thanks for that cartoon reprise.
I didn’t look, but a link to topics about Dan’s recent lawsuit against CBS might be good as well.

I had not heard that Jeanne Assam was fired from a police job.
For me, the self destruction of the MSM had begun years ago (going back into the 1970s, really) ... but started crystallizing with ABC News' smear job on the Food Lion supermarket chain ... then NBC News' smear job on GMC pickup trucks. There were other things along the way, but not really so glaringly obvious and on a national scale. Dan Rather was the final straw.
I now assume that they're lying, no matter what they say, or who they say it about.

You know this entire episode, along with the Swifties story, the Downing St. memo reaction, the Plame/Wilson incident, and countless other big media missteps during Bush 43 would make an EXCELLENT documentary. I just wish I had the time!

I never had so much fun in my life as when this story broke.
I was merciless with Rather, sending comic emails to CBS, busting their chops, telling them I had all kinds of new memos for them.
I laughed my a$$ off for a week.
As they say on television - “We ain’t done with Kerry yet!”.
Kudos to Scott and Tim for doing a great job on the book, but the research on Kerry’s lies and malevalent anti-war efforts goes on, and on, and on.
There are more lies to deconstruct; more medals to be proven unearned; more harm to the US and our troops to be exposed.
