Appy, if that is the conclusion you drew from sevanbak's post then you were misled. The fact is that Mormons teach that Satan and Jesus were both "spirit children" of the Heavenly Father. They were spirit brothers.
The whole scheme of Mormon beliefs is so convoluted, you get lost trying to wade through it. But suffice it to say that Mormons believe that Jesus began his existence as a spirit child of the Heavenly Father, just like you and me and Satan, and then somewhere along the line was exalted to the position of Diety and his spirit brother Satan was cast out of heaven for rebelling against the Plan of Salvation which was proposed by Jesus voted upon by the Heavenly Council in the premortal existence.
It ain't a bunch of junk. You were the victim of a classic LDS misdirection by sevenbak. Post 330 (from colorcountry) is from the official website of the LDS Church. The bottom line is that the Mormons belive that Jesus was not God from all eternity, but became a God, a member of the Godhead, at some point after his spiritual birth in the pre-existence.
Fairness requires that all the candidates be asked the same question. Except you might not like the answers you get.
Help me out here, what other Christian religions do not allow the cross in their churched or to be worn?
