Journalists abet jihad when they make claims like this. The truth is that some people claim that it is offensive in Islamic culture. They also often claim that "most" Muslims are "moderate" without defining moderation. The unaddressed implication is that a Muslim can be moderate and yet still be "offended" by an Italian wearing a shirt with a cross on it. I think it is one or the other and that journalists should not be claiming both things to be true at once.
