Huckabee's Consistency (Janet Folger: Americans Want A Leader Of Principle Alert)
Worldnetdaily.com ^ | 12/11/2007 | Janet Folger

Timeless principles consistent with where Huckabee remains today and relevant to the recent headlines. Also nine years ago, Huckabee said the1998 Jonesboro shootings were driven by "the winds of spiritual change in a nation that has forgotten its God."

"Government knows it does not have the answer, but it's arrogant and acts as though it does," Huckabee said. "Church does have the answer but will cowardly deny that it does and wonder when the world will be changed."

He gets it. And the message of values grounded in the Word of God are timeless. The winds of spiritual change that have forgotten God – even on His birthday – have driven current events and the most recent shootings like a tornado through a trailer park.

Principle and God Talk from a politician? Janet Folger takes a look at Mike Huckabee and why he's the candidate the Left ought to fear most.

Janet Folger’s kneepads must be too tight. It’s affecting her ability to reason.

If WND is supporting Huckabee then we know he must be the One.

Pretty sad how the establishment ignores good conservatives such as Hunter and Tancredo.

I cannot take seriously any politician who thinks it is morally right to use the strong arm of government to reach into taxpayers’ wallets in order to confiscate money for the purpose of handing it over to people to whom it does not belong. And when those people are illegal aliens, it’s not only immoral, it’s.... scumbaggish.

Is “scumbaggish” a word? Whatever. It is now.

Yeah, with all those Democrats Huckster helped elect in Arkansas, I’m sure they’re just quaking in their boots.

Everybody seems to have one or more candidates that they really dislike. Mine are Rudy/Mitt/Paul.

Janet’s only concern is the social issue’s. So, its not surprising that she supports Huckabee. I don’t even know if she is fiscally conservative or not.

I like Janet Folger, but if the New Hampshire NEA is supporting Huckabee, THAT ENDORSEMENT SHOULD SEND US ALL A HUGE MESSAGE. The NEA HATES conservatives, Republicans and Christians.

She seems like a pleasant woman. But she was as ridiculously breathless about Huckabee at the values voters debate as Hugh Hewitt gets after huffing Romney’s worn BVDs. Sumthin ain’t right.

I am growing more and more suspicious of the Huckabee campaign. Maybe I’m missing something. He is most certainly a social conservative and I was impressed when he didn’t back off his comments on Aids or homosexuality. I still haven’t figured what it is that is causing the so called surge in the polls for him. Maybe it is the weakness of the previous front runners.

I’ve always thought Romney would evaporate once scrutiny hit him and he is evaporating as well as Rudy. I think Rudy will be able to continue to hang on but I think Romney is going to fade especially the more he has to talk about the quirks in his religion. I still haven’t figured out why the latterday saints haven’t jettisoned all the crap Joseph Smith made up but that aside it was never going to be easy going for a Massachusetts Republican.

I think the only reason Huckabee is on the rise is because no one is stronger right now. Thompson seems to have finally awakened and realized that he is going to have to run if he is going to rise above the embarrassing showing which places him barely keeping up with John McCain. I’m still voting for him because I think he has the most potential of all the candidates.

I just could not imagine Huckabee running in the general election. I may change my mind but I don’t think so. I must say I do like his directness he handles himself fairly well.
Ironically I think the media has actually helped him in focusing on some of his more conservative statements. That is changing. His talk is being compared to his walk. The one thing that is certain is that Huckabee is about to face a huge onslaught from the campaigns with the most money.

I think that should bring pause to anyone. Why isn’t Huckabee pulling in more money if he is so popular and why is Ron Paul pulling in money like it is growing on trees.

Here is an interesting chart of the fund raising. Huckabee is barely ahead of Brownback. Him leading the pack is like Dennis Kucinich taking the led on the Democrat side. It just doesn’t make much sense. Maybe his being a Baptist preacher is driving his surge?

I’m not for Ron Paul but I also think his support is being under estimated because he is pealing off a lot of young democrats. He should start Democrats for Paul in those states where there is no restriction on cross party primary voting and he might actually win a primary. A lot of these polls poll independents and Republicans only.

Here is a chart of fund raising statistics:
