I also am "security" in a semiofficial way at my church. I usually don't get door duty as I'm also in the choir, however, last night, the youth choir performed their musical. I immediately took door duty and handed out the bulletins. An elderly member of the church arrived with his wife and said, "I see they put you on the door after what happened in Colorado today". I had not heard the news and the only person that put me on the door was the Holy Spirit. *smile*

My husband was head usher at our former church. He had an informal "A team" in case of trouble. They never had any because they always managed to talk 'em down. Of course if you have a couple of old Navy Chiefs, a karate black belt whose night job is bouncer in a local bar, a judo instructor, and your team leader is 6'6", 250# and 4th kyu aikido, it helps.
Problem is in GA nobody can tote in a church. That puts everybody at a disadvantage. Gun free zone. They were always very aware of that.
