When I have taken items to the checkout at a store and the tag has a sale price still marked on it, by law they are obligated to sell it to me at the price as marked on the item, even if the sign on the bin has a higher price.That's not a law, that's a courtesy extended by the store. On the flip side, signs that say "you break it, you buy it" are not legally enforceable either.

No actually it’s the law. They have to sell you items at the lowest marked price, otherwise it’s a bait and switch. That’s why smart retailers are very thorough when they change prices, missing one item can be very expensive. And for this situation that means if the pump actually said the price was .329 then it doesn’t matter what the road sign said.
