it is LEGAL to have a CONCEALED weapon in your CAR when you are traveling around the state (EVERY county, including DENVER COUNTY!) whether you have a permit or NOT. Your car is considered, in this state, like your “residence”.

Handgun.

Long guns are covered by DOW.

Wrong. It is LEGAL for me to carry a rifle or shotgun in my car, as long as no round is chambered. Sorry. I carry my AR15 and several other weapons with me when I go to a range. Mostly they are unloaded, but if I am carrying a lot of EXPENSIVE WEAPONS, I keep two mags for the AR ready to load, and I keep a side arm as does my life-long shooting partner and wife.

No, it is NOT illegal to keep a loaded weapon of any sort in your car.

The only restriction is “NO CHAMBERED ROUND” in a rifle or shotgun. That’s in the Colorado Revised Statues.

(I need to add to this, I assume you’re referring to carrying a concealed HANDGUN in your car for protection. It would be kind of dumb to carry a loaded rifle to protect yourself in your vehicle)

So I assume that’s what you’re talking about? Even so, it is NOT illegal to carry a rifle concealed in your vehicle.
