COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.

Who knows the way God acts? Why did he send Joseph, Mary and Jesus to Egypt in order to remove them from the threat of Herod the Great? He could have easily simply caused Herod to drop dead.
Not without the trauma plates. But with them it's good against at least 7.62x39. Without it, it's good for shrapnel. Most military "body armor" was designed against shrapnel, at least until recently.

That could be, but mega-churches receive threats regularly. I have been to several and always seen police presence in the entrance ways of the worship centers.
There is a reason for everything that happens, although it’s not always clear at the time. I’m hoping that one positive thing that comes from this is that people will see that an armed citizenry can prevent a massacre, because if it weren’t for the armed security guard we would be praying for many more victims right now...

Why should efficiency, in your terms, be God's goal? If we see this woman cop raised up, able to great things in the future because of this, so much more the awesomeness of it all!
I'm sure a lot of evil intent gets nullified through prayer, but obviously not all of it does. With man's strong inclinations and greedy demands concerning Free Will, we think we've gotta do what we've gotta do, all from a very young age.
The evil choices are from the hearts of men (and women). Evil is allowed to exist as part of God's plan. Praise, faith and love from automatons would be as meaningless as stones raised as Abraham's progeny.
