[I waited 45 seconds and actually posted something substantial--Ed.]
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.
Me too... Me too... I’ve only rediscovred deep faith in the last year. I can’t tell you how grateful I am that the L-rd accepts us back after turning away from Him at times... His love for all of us is truly miraculous.
>>”This wouldve been probably the worst incident of its kind the world had seen if it were not for Miss Assam.”<<
Yes! You are so right! I wish the LSM would tell the truth about this! 7,000 unarmed people, facing a mad-man with thousands of rounds of ammo in his pockets - and he hates them ALL.
Selective seratonin reuptake inhibitors—Paxil and Lexapro, to name two. Usually prescribed for anxiety and/or depression. I’ve taken both of them at one time or another and I haven’t killed anybody.
We have an Awesome God.
Amen!
Thanks!
Has there been any indications that this young man was on SSRI’s or any other medications? Let’s face the facts — the reason why so many of these people are on depression meds in the first place is because they are troubled. If it was the fault of the SSRI’s in these cases we would see many, many other instances of this happening. I don’t know if those mentioning this are just waiting to blame it on the meds, but that’s what happened in the Witchita Mall Shooting. It remains that these medications DO help most people. It is only when they are not receiving counseling, are on the wrong medication for their specific chemistry, have stopped taking their meds etc... that they usually wind up going off the deep end. Again, there are MILLIONS of people in this country on anti-depressant medication. If it were truly the fault of the meds themselves, these occurences would be WAY more common.
Kind of reminds me of the young Angie Dickinson in that old TV show “Policewoman”.
Yep. She’s got that look that says “you REALLY don’t want to mess with me.”
hehehe
Her name is Jeanne Assam.
Assam is an Arab name, FWIW. Don’t know if it’s her married or maiden name.

And she’s only 25 years old?
Hear, hear.
Like I said, I’ve taken SSRI’s before, and they both helped, although it took forever to come off the Paxil, and I didn’t like some of the side effects. Lexapro is totally awesome, BTW.
I don’t know; haven’t read her age (don’t have t.v., either):
At least ABC news, via the Denver Channel, is rightly quoting her about her faith in God:

Security Guard: ‘God Guided Me And Protected Me’
“There was chaos,” Assam said, as parishioners ran away.
“I saw him coming through the doors” and took cover, Assam said. “I came out of cover and identified myself and engaged him and took him down.”
Assam had several years of experience in law enforcement and is licensed to carry a weapon. She attends one of the morning services and then volunteers as a guard during another service.
“I give credit to God,” Assam said. “God was with me. I didn’t think for a minute to run away.”
She 'engaged' him, all right. LOL!

I wonder what the shooter thought when he saw her coming towards him? No way would he have been prepared for this.
Nope....Assam is 42:

Nope, no way. And I read up thread his own gun jammed.
hehehe
Choice words, they are!
That was wrong...she is 42. (Colo Springs Gazette).
