May G-d give her the strength to deal with those who will doubt her... What an awesome witness to the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Would we all but allow Him to express Himself thusly in our own lives....that would indeed be something!
Also interesting to note in the press conference today, they mentioned the shooter had a backpack with hardware having the capability of 1,000 rounds. Assuming this means he had 1,000 rounds of live ammo on him, that could have been quite a blood bath. Apparently he wasn’t just planning on shooting a few people.
I'm sure they must be scrambling to convert her press conference to digital webberized form.
Agreed. I pray that one of the positive outcomes of this tragedy will be yet more relying on Him, even when the stakes are not as high.
What are SSRI? Ritalin??
How do you know?? Did the story say that?
Amen!
I am reminded to do just that, just about every day.
God has long patience with me. : )
Could be - I read that the older one (the shooter) was the student in OK, but things get so confused in the initial reports that it’s very possible that it was the younger brother.
From what I have read, there were still approximately 7,000 people in the church when he pulled up, and started shooting in the parking lot (killing the two sisters). He then went in the front door of the church, and was confronted and shot by the security guard (God bless her!) before he got into the sanctuary. He had over a thousand rounds of ammo in his pockets. He could have killed much more than one hundred!
And regarding an earlier post to you wondering if his home was in the neighborhood I raised my kids - yes it is. My kids played at that address with the children who lived there at the time. (My old stompin’ grounds!) The house was sold to the Murray’s in 1986.
She’s pretty!
I think He has long patience with all of us. :) None of us are perfect, that’s for sure... I too have to remind myself daily that He is indeed there for us — no matter what trials we are personally faced with.
Bless the woman with courage. Jael in modern garb.
very pretty gal!
I’m so glad about that, though. I deserve beatings for just being so thick-skulled and stubborn, instead, He just loves me. : )
too weird, yorkie....too weird!
I’m also praying right now that all the anti-gun activists out there see that there is a purpose and a need for citizens to have guns. If it weren’t for this church hiring security in the first place we would be praying for many, many more victims, that’s a fact... By the time police could’ve responded this person could have killed hundreds, and without knowing his locations, etc... it’s not likely they would’ve stormed the building (if past events are any indicator). This would’ve been probably the worst incident of its kind the world had seen if it were not for Miss Assam.

SSRIs involved in Mass Murder
U.S. Senator Wayne Allard's Weekly News ColumnCOLORADO'S TRAGIC SHOOTINGS
I wish to express, on behalf of myself and my wife Joan, our devastation and heartfelt sadness for both the families and communities that are suffering as a result of the senseless shootings yesterday in Colorado.
Every shooting, and every loss of an innocent life, is a terrible blow. But, shootings at schools or churches hit an especially weak spot in our public armor. They hurt our nation in a deeper and more profound way and we mourn for the families and communities of those who have been affected by the tragedies this weekend.
The first attack on Sunday occurred at 12:30 a.m. and left two victims dead and two other wounded at the Youth with a Mission center in Metro Denver. The second, 12 hours later in Colorado Springs, left two dead and three others wounded.
The two victims who lost their lives at the New Life Church were teenage sisters, shot in the parking lot as they left a worship service. Three others including the father of the teenage sisters were also wounded and are recovering from injuries.
There were 7,000 people at the New Life Church yesterday when the shooting took place. A volunteer security guard stopped this murderer just inside the building, saving an unknown but certainly large number of those from being attacked as well.
The name and background of the security guard who stopped the gunman are still being withheld, but she bravely acted on her instincts and training.
With quick and decisive action, she returned fire with the gunman, fatally wounding him. This real-life hero has been widely credited today for saving hundreds of lives inside the church. I join with the people of Colorado in praising her actions and thank her for the numerous lives she saved.
As Colorado mourns, we join together to remember the lives lost, the heartache of those left behind, and the valiant action of those who stopped the tragedy from spreading and helped those in need.
