Kwanzaa: A cliche’ holiday to make white people feel guilty. Well, maybe a few white people.

Doesnt really seem like its catching on here, either... I have noticed a significant drop in Kawanza hype this year. Not even the obligatory liberal editorial about diversity and all that in the local liberal rag.

Mexicans never heard of cinco de mayo till they come to america. At least that’s what a mexican once told me.

KWAAAAAANNNNZA is a totally made up fictitious “holiday” which was SPECIFICALLY designed to replace Christ-mas. And that is exactly why it was made up. As an alternative to any reference to Judeo-Christianity.

So what? If people want to celebrate an invented holiday, and I’m not compelled to celebrate it, I don’t care. Let people have Kwanzaa if they want it. The United Kingdom doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving Day, either, and Americans don’t celebrate the Queen’s official birthday.
It’s not worth the fluff and spit, people.

Cinco de Mayo is not even a big deal in Mexico. Only in Puebla state in Mexico. It was to celebrate the defeat of the French.

Kwanzaa is Swahili from "matunda ya kwanza", meaning "first fruits".
Wikipedia-Kwanzaa
Except one problem here, Black Americans are from West Africa, not East Africa. Swahili is lingua franca for Southern and Eastern Africa. It is most likely that Black African ancestors spoke languages in the Niger-Congo family, which includes Swahili.

Of course there is Kwanza in Africa. It is the monetary unit in Angola and worthless.

but economically supported by the greeting card industry a You can't blame the greeting card companies. If there are enough deluded people out there to make the production of such cards profitable, it's just plain old capitalism at work.
To: ICE-FLYER
That is because it is a made up b.s. holiday.

A pole for young female dancers? It's the Kwanzaa equivalent of a Christmas tree, but then maybe this is where he got the inspiration.

Happy it shall not be named Day to all!

Kwanzaa is a pseudo-Marxist scam invented by an ex-con, having nothing to do with any real African traditions It's purpose was to separate Blacks from Christ. Pure and simple.
