John Edwards today claimed the first non-student newspaper endorsement in Iowa, where the Jan. 3 caucuses could make or break his presidential campaign.
Valley News Today is a small paper based in Shenandoah in southwest Iowa, but could be a barometer of the former North Carolina senator's support in rural areas. The paper typically doesn't issue endorsements for the caucuses, the Edwards campaign said.

My favorite insane rant and insane campaign promise he has made in this campaign was in New Hampshire on November 28 2007, while speaking to an energized crowd of 12 people, he stated " And if Rush Limbaugh calls me the Breck Girl again, Im going down to the EIB southern command post and take him to the wood shed. The last thing I want is a conservative pig like him interjecting himself into my campaign! "
And
" Exxon Mobil set a new record by raking in $40 billion in profits last year. No other corporation has ever made an annual profit of that size, he yelled, and its all Bush and Cheneys fault!
LOL!!! Then this tough talking Breck Girl made his best campaign promise this year...
There are two Americas, he fired. And I want to take away Rush Limbaughs America. Put me in office, and I guarantee Rush Limbaugh and Hillary Clinton will never fill up their limousines again.
I love this nut-case, he has the best lines.
I love that he knows of his Breck Girl nickname. I only hope he has an idea how MANY of us think of him like that.
But seriously, think about what he’s saying here, that as President he will end Rush’s America. What does that mean, that he’ll use the power of the presidency to wipe out a certain segment of the population?
Does he see himself as the Breck Girl Lenin?
