WASHINGTON — The Senate Intelligence Committee has begun an investigation into the destruction of CIA tapes made during the interrogation of two terror suspects.
The CIA said Thursday it destroyed the tapes because of concerns that its agents could be put at risk.
Democrats on Friday also made loud calls for the new Justice Department chief, Attorney General Michael Mukasey, to look into whether the CIA violated any laws by tossing the tapes, which reportedly featured interrogators using harsh methods.
It is not known if the tapes showed interrogators using the method known as waterboarding, which is widely believed to be a form of torture.
The CIA acknowledged Thursday that it had destroyed the interrogation tapes. One is of an unnamed alleged terrorist, and one was of Abu Zubaydah — who under questioning gave up information leading to the capture of alleged Sept. 11 conspirator Ramzi Binalshibh, a fact disclosed by President Bush last year.
In the hours before The New York Times was set to publish a story regarding the tapes' destruction, CIA Director Michael Hayden told agency employees Thursday that the agency destroyed the tapes in 2005 — they were made in 2002 — because keeping them "posed a security risk." I truly wish the President would put these traitors in irons, then maybe the one half of the skulls full of mush who live in America would truly understand that we are at war with a dangerous enemy that wants us all dead or slaves.
Senator Bond of Missouri was just on Fox new in St Louis. He said he had reviewed the tapes and there was nothing out of the ordinary, i.e. no torture.
When I heard the tapes had been destroyed, my reaction was, “Yea, they are finally getting smart!”
Personally, I wouldn’t have cared if they were staked out in the desert sun on an anthill with honey poured on their crotches and their eyelids propped open with sticks. But that’s just me.
The whole thing is about overstuffing Mulkasey’s plate so he cannot investigate crimes committed by the dems.

Jay Rockefeller, Democrat leader of the Senate Intelligence Committee follows in the family tradition of being borderline commie pinko when it comes to American foreign policy. Remember that he personally flew to Syria and Saudi Arabia to warn the muslim leaders of those countries that President Bush was going to invade Iraq in advance, a very treasonous act on his part.
True to family tradition, Jay Rockefeller is once again proving that Rockefeller interests trump the interests of the American people, ergo, the Rockefellers as extreme liberals want a unified world devoid of indivdual sovereignties so that the enormously wealthy class such as themselves can control the world for their own benefit. Their clandestine efforts come out when their operatives blatantantly lied about Iran’s nuclear program in the recently leaked National Intelligence report to influence American public opinion. If the tapes existed at all they were simply blacked-out (censored) for security reasons just as the Clinton White House blacked-out almost 400 pages of the Cox Report (Report of the Select Committee on U.S. National Security and Military/Commercial Concerns with the People's Republic of China).
That happens with FOIA items and things released to us little people. Gotta protect them security thingies especially if the President and his lovely wife, Mrs. Clinton, traded technology for campaign funds.
