Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t a candidate need at leat 15% of the vote in Iowa. If he doens’t make the cut then his supporters can change their vote.
I hope Fred makes the cut-off as I can easily see him being the #2 vote for many of the other guys (especially Tancredo and Hunter). But that’s only about 2% so he’d need one of the other top guys to miss the mark and have his supporters go for him.

"Not only is Iran the major long-term threat to our country, the nuclear program is the most important part of the Iran consideration. For a presidential candidate not to know that and not to keep up with that is very suprising," said Thompson. Doesn't matter to the 'banning abortion is the only thing we care about period end of story' crowd. Since the Huckster is the most dogmatic abortion opponent of the bunch, of course he'll get traction among the one-issuers.
Wake up, one-issuers, it's a dangerous world out there. It's a moot point to discuss abortion policy if the country no longer exists.

"These are the kinds of things I've been talking about all of my life. Now, if the American people have other priorities, if they want someone who smiles a lot more than I do, or someone who is a better quipster than I am, who has no experience in these areas, that's for the American people to decide." Fred, have you been reading my posts?

Huckabee does seem a little shaky on foreign policy issues. One thing Huck is right about though is that he opposes the creation of a Palestinian state out of Israeli territory. W. is the first US president to make support for a Palestinian state official US policy. Even Clinton didn't go that far. I for one hope that the next President reverses this foolish policy.
Fred Thompson supports the creation of a Palestinian state.
