Today former Texas Court of Appeals Judge Paul Pressler endorsed Fred Thompson for President.
"Fred Thompson has the experience, convictions and dedication to make him a great candidate and a great President," said Judge Pressler. "He knows Washington but is not part of the Washington system. Fred is the consistent conservative in the presidential race and is the most electable."
Judge Paul Pressler is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Texas Law School. He was a Texas state legislator and went on to serve as a District Judge from 1970 to 1978. Judge Pressler was appointed Justice of the Texas Court of Appeals in 1978 and served until 1992. He has since retired but maintains an active international private practice. As a young attorney and family man, Judge Pressler was deeply concerned over the theological drift he saw in the Southern Baptist Convention. He was one of the two chief architects of the "Conservative Resurgence" of the SBC in the late '70s and early '80s. Because of his tireless efforts, he is revered among Southern Baptists as a warrior and hero.
"I am deeply grateful to receive the endorsement of Judge Paul Pressler. Judge Pressler is a leader of great integrity," said Senator Thompson. "His service in the legislative and judicial branches of government provides him a unique perspective on the role of the Presidency. In his private life, he has been a stalwart conservative leader in the Southern Baptist Convention and is deeply respected and influential. I appreciate his confidence in me, my consistent record, and my plans for our country."
ping!
Does this mean Fred is going to start campaigning?
He’s been out there as much as everyone, the media has just been ignoring him and focusing on the candidates that fit their agenda, RINOS and Moderates.
He hasn’t heard Mitt’s speech yet, that’s got to be it...
Just askin’....
The shibboleth that he’s not campaigning as hard as everybody else is nothing but an MSM-generated meme.
“A review of the two-week period from Nov. 4-17 by Gannett News Service shows Thompson held 28 campaign events, making him No. 2 among the four major GOP candidates. Sen. John McCain of Arizona topped the list at 35. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney held 22 and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 20.” - The Tennessean, Nov. 24, 2007.
See #8.
Sum it up...
It’s Bullcrap...
But what can you do...
Does this mean Fred is going to start campaigning?
Rumors of Fred’s demise are greatly exaggerated
Something tells me when Super Tuesday rolls around, Fred will be the frontrunner
..one candidate did not display any moderateness or liberalism...Fred Thompson - Rush Limbaugh
Yep. It must be really frustrating to be a part of Fred’s campaign. That said, I think we will be seeing a Fred surge as the primaries approach.
Maybe Rush has noticed that the media are ignoring Fred.
That was always their best weapon. Don’t just attack a candidate, which may stir up resistance to your propaganda, but pretend he doesn’t exist, and in Fred’s case come out with the occasional tiny squib or comment saying that he’s too lazy to campaign.
One of Rush’s main jobs is to give people the news that the media are hiding. It’s not an endorsement, it’s the only fair and reasonable way to deal with the MSM’s favorite trick.
Rush was speaking highly of Mitt. He should just endorse someone. Fred was last week. Mitt this week...
He spoke highly of Mitt’s speech, not Mitt himself. He actually criticized Mitt, Huck, and Rudy as having moderate/liberal baggage.
P. S. The other guy who gives widespread coverage to news the media try to hide is Drudge.
Drudge is NOT a conservative, but he does enjoy finding stories that others are hiding, and since the press is so leftist, those often turn out to be conservative stories.
Drudge did a number on clinton. He also clearly dislikes Bush, and runs him down at every opportunity. That was true even before Bush was elected to office.
Drudge might consider helping Fred a bit. The clintons attacked Drudge during the Monica scandal and said that he was a dirty homosexual. Drudge responded, basically, So what? That put an end to their attack. But I don’t think Drudge is fond of the religious right. So, who would he rather see run on the Republican side? Huckabee? Romney? or Fred? If I were Drudge, I’d put my money on Fred. He doesn’t have to show bias, just get out the truth that the MSM are covering up.
Does he want to see hillary elected? I don’t think she likes him very much, and when she doesn’t like someone, she has a habit of putting a contract out on him. So it’s either kiss her toes and beg for forgiveness, or hope she doesn’t get into the White House.
IMO, this observation is “spot on”! How is it that a FReeper (Callahan) sounds just like the MSM (or Hillary for that matter)?
