I’m quite sure each of those cities has dangerous areas. That said, have no desire to go to either one of those cities.
You might get a disease at San Francisco. ;-) (”The City” - and don’t call it “Frisco”!)
I guarantee your safer in Seattle’s Central District (black neighborhood) as a white person (though you may get some incidents here and there) than you would be in many parts of the ‘hood’ in Baltimore.
I lived in Seattle and had a girlfriend who lived in the Central District. Having been to Detroit and lived in Philly and DC before gentrification, I can assure you it’s a lot safer in the worst neighborhoods of Seattle. Tacoma and some of the suburbs are actually more questionable, IMO.
