I guarantee your safer in Seattle’s Central District (black neighborhood) as a white person (though you may get some incidents here and there) than you would be in many parts of the ‘hood’ in Baltimore.

I lived in Seattle and had a girlfriend who lived in the Central District. Having been to Detroit and lived in Philly and DC before gentrification, I can assure you it’s a lot safer in the worst neighborhoods of Seattle. Tacoma and some of the suburbs are actually more questionable, IMO.

Whatever you say, tough guy. I’ve lived in Balto. most of my life. Have been in the worst parts of Bal, D.C., NY, LA, NO...Bal is no worse or better than these other cities. And I never mentioned color...

What are you trying to say here? Seattle’s black area is a district, yet Balto’s is the “hood”?

That’s because the CD 1. has a declining black population 2. Seattle has a small black population and 3. the racial history/dynamics on the East Coast and upper midwest are VERY different than out west. Here in the NE, even poor/lower middle class whites and blacks live segregated from one another (by choice). Out west, its more a question of social class.
