Green told investigators he put her body in the front seat and raped her because her body was still warm.

He dragged Spencer out of his vehicle and put her in front of the car and ran over her several times, going back and forth. He then collected himself long enough to dump her body in Twin Prairie Bayou.

Elsewhere Huckabee said he's as conservative as anybody needs to be.

I guess he didn't see a need to be conservative in this case.

Although he's required to by the Constitution, the governor, as is his custom, won't say why he granted clemency to this crazed killer (over the unanimous objections of the Post-Prison Transfer Board). Huckabee apparently listened to Green's minister (and a friend of the governor), who thinks the murder was an accident and Green was forced to confess.

While stupid, it probably made him feel morally superior to the rest of us. Otherwise known as the Jimmy Carter syndrome.

The Values Voters got some ‘slaning to do

Looks like Hucksterbee valued those criminals over the victims and their families

This isnt gonna look good for those “Walker, Texas Ranger” reruns. Maybe Hucksterbee letting out all the cons will put Walker back to work

Elsewhere I have called Huckabee “a bible-thumping liberal”.

Now I’m starting to doubt his Christianity. I think he’s just a liar. A pure Clintonian liar. On every subject.

Another one?

This week has not been good for Huck.

All 703 of Huckabee’s clemencies are probably being filtered through by the opposition.

This story appears to be #2.

It could be a deep hole for Huckabee by the time all 703 cases get vetted by his opposition.

>> While his fellow governors keep electing him to top positions in their little club, he has alienated Arkansans of both parties. <<

Yeah, that’s why his job approval is nice and high. Riiiight.

all one can say is that his actions perhaps reflect a combination of arrogance and avarice and ignorance.

or perhaps a pastor's naivete, confusing forgetfulness with forgiveness. I saw no evidence of avarice offered (which the Toon had on full display with his pardons). That said, the poor judgment shown by Huckabee is a disqualifier IMHO.

Elsewhere I have called Huckabee “a bible-thumping liberal”. Now I’m starting to doubt his Christianity.

It's probably his Christian compassion that motivates him to release these criminals. Although it is possible for someone to have a true conversion experience in the slammer, that should not be criteria for them being released.

No, it’s been a good week for Huckabee, so all of Arkansas’ Molly Ivinses are terrified he’s electabel and slinging mud as fast as they can.

He’s not my first choice, or second, or third, or fourth choice. But this open-seasoon-on-whoever-takes-the-lead behavior of FReepers is trashy, shameful and disgusting.

Some additional links regarding Huckabee's clemencies/pardons:

Huckabee extends mercy to 9 inmates April 14, 2006.

Mike Huckabee: Pardon Me references several other questionable pardons.

Why does Huck single-out violent
offenders for preferential treatment?

if prison space was needed,
a thousand potheads would seem to
be lots safer for society
