Shields is representing township resident Mary Welsch, who claims in a federal lawsuit before U.S. District Judge Juan R. Sanchez that police illegally took her deceased father's guns from her house, then refused to return them without a court order.
The township has agreed to give the 16 guns back to Welsch, her father's sole beneficiary, but she is pushing ahead with the civil rights suit in an attempt to have the department's gun-seizure policy declared unconstitutional.
If there is a ruling in the case, it could potentially set a precedent that impacts Philadelphia's ability to seize guns in certain situations, said Temple Law School professor David Kairys. EXCELLENT!

Years and years of blue rule. That's more disinformation. The commies were called reds, anarchists had black flags and the commies' useful idiots in this country were appropriately called pinkoes. Ergo, code pink.

Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood Sr. said yesterday that his department will not return seized firearms without a court order or his personal approval. Outright theft. This arrogant sheriff and his cruddy department deserved to be sued to the max, including damages and interest for holding on to the property illegally.

How did PA get so many petty tyrants?PA has too many small governments (township, county, city, state, etc) that overlap and have provided lifetime employment for a network of "good old boys" who trace their roots back to the union shop days.

He deserves to be thrown in prison for a very long time, but that’ll never happen.

that police illegally took her deceased father's guns from her house, then refused to return them without a court order.I wish I could remember the screen names of all of those "law and order" worshiping freepers who repeatedly assured me that
- although the police chiefs are anti-gun, the rank and file are pro gun and woulnd never enforce gun confiscation
- that New orleans was an abberation, and they police stopped gun confiscation pretty quickly when what they were doing got publicity
- Gun confisction will never happen in the USA
- etc
But I'm too lazy to look back through the zillions of posts to find them and rub their noses in it.

The origin of this red/blue switcheroo was the red-blue state election maps the MSM put out after the 2000 election.
Naturally, the liberal commie ‘rats in the MSM couldn’t have the leftist commie ‘rats painted red.
The switcheroo has been going on since.

Fur die kinder!Es ist immer für das Kinder und zur allgemeinen Sicherheit (That's where they got the name Sicherheitsdienst for that famous organization for the advancement of human rights and freedom, the SD)
You were most definitely NOT one of the people I was referring to in post 11.

Yep, there are way too many levels of government and entrenched good ol’ boys like this sheriff who pretty much run localities like Boss Hogg and Roscoe P. Coltrane.
