The site allows anyone to search for grant and contract spending by company, city, agency or industry. "We were frustrated by how hard it was to find out about government spending," said Gary Bass, the group's executive director. "We were being told we couldn't do this - it would cost millions of dollars." After Hurricane Katrina highlighted the need to hold government contractors accountable, OMB Watch received a three-year grant from the Sunlight Foundation http://www.sunlightfoundation.com/ and launched the site six months later.

What part of the political spectrum do these people fall on? It looks to me like they are on the left and are activists for the left. I could be wrong. I'd sure like to know who the blanked out donors on in the current 990.

I only checked one article on the site, “The Real Long-Term Health Care Challenge”, which is critical of proposed government health insurance ploys being floated, and based on that one report alone I don’t see a hint of any leftists. That’s my first opinion on the site and based entirely on the single report. I will read more in the coming days.
