I would love to see the photo of your mom eating the cherry bakewell.

Neither of my addresses has changed the work address is often the best one as home all we have is the slot in the door which means often that is full of junk mail and the post man often has to knock the door and it is difficult for dad to get to the door before he has got fed up and put a card through to collect whatever from the Post Office.

Happy Christmas to you and your mom.

A Happy Christmas to you, too! I’ll see if I can get that photo in the mail tomorrow.

We have rain here now. Can’t wait to see the snow on the Sierra Nevada range on Saturday, when the weather will clear and we’ll be able to see the mountains.

And I meant to say, I believe the National Christmas tree that the President and his friends lit today - is from my very own beloved NC Mountains.....but don’t have a link to “prove it”...just remember seeing a story about it on local news one night...I THINK.

God bless and keep our President, our First Lady, and all who are serving this country with honor and courage tonight!

In case anybody from the White House is lurking, it’s nice to see there are still some of us around who have the perspective to understand what a great job President Bush has done under such difficult circumstances.

I personally want him to know we still think the world of him.

Maybe I’ll write him a little letter when I send out my Christmas cards.

Or just send him a card, too.

I can’t read my own writing.

At the end of the address, is that a 5 or an S before the H?

And I meant to say, I believe the National Christmas tree that the President and his friends lit today - is from my very own beloved NC Mountains...

First lady Laura Bush, right, receives the official White House Christmas tree outside the North Portico of the White House in Washington, Monday, Nov. 26, 2007. With Mrs. Bush, from left are, Beth Walterscheidt, president of the National Christmas Tree Association, and Joe Freeman and his wife Linda Jones from Mistletoe Meadow Farms in Laurel Springs, N.C.

Thanks for the Dose.

Laura looks so "cute" in her earmuffs and warm scarf. I used to live in a cold climate (Buffalo) and I still remember how cold my ears got if I did not cover them.

WEll, there you are. It’s great to meet up here. I miss the exchanges a lot. I think of you so often, and wonder how your Dad is getting on. Thank you again for the Christmas cheer. It helped me get into the spirit. I had been too busy to care about Christmas. Actually have gotten to the point of dreading it.

My goodness, daisyscarlett, it has been ages since I’ve seen you. How are you doing? I have missed you and the old “gang”. Just don’t have time to keep up any more.

Thanks Nan. Good to see you, too. And I agree, time goes by faster the older we get. Yesterday when I was young, it seemed like the wait between Thanksgiving and Christmas was forever...now it just zips by.

I'll bet your little granddaughter is eagerly awaiting the holidays and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Yes, this will be the first Christmas that Emma will be big enough to be excited. She is three and a half now and so smart it's scary. She already operates my computer better than I do. I created a monster when I showed her where to find her "toddler" games. The computer has become a better babysitter than the TV. I have trouble getting her away from it. She is a joy and we love her more than is good for her. She is a good child though. I will have to get Mama Bear to post a picture of her for me. I still don't know how to do that. Maybe Emma can show me. Ha.

May you also have a blessed Christmas.
