3-5 PM December 24, 1982 I was acting director of the California Youth Authority. Highest ranking person amongst the 6 left in a building of 400 employees. Missed my opportunity to call the governor’s office and make mischief.

“I guess Congress will keep on working until 5pm on Christmas Eve.”

Will dingy and nancy have one person to open business in each house to keep President Bush from making appointments?

I believe it required an Act of Congress, and there probably would have been sufficient votes to override a veto.

Good, the more days government employees spend at home is just less days they have to screw around with the rest of us. ;^)

That said I hope they all have a Merry Christmas.

He shouldn't. We're in a war on terror. No days off until it's won. EVER!

“I already had that day scheduled off as a day of annual leave, so this just means that I have one more day off that I can save.”

As long as it isn’t use or lose. LOL

I wish Bush would issue an executive order to uncap the oil wells here and start the black gold flowing. That would go a long way to easing the pump prices here in the USA. SOMEBODY needs to do SOMETHING about the situation.

We, the “little people”, have to work that day. Who else is going to pay the “chosen ones” their outrageous salaries? Give me a break. I’m so disgusted anymore with Washington. Fat a$$ hogs living off the scraps of the “little people”. Their day of reckoning will come someday and not too soon.

Merry Christmas!

Productivity in all of my companies and my friends companies lag in that period. One of my companies operates a billable call center staffed by mostly females. The billing drops 25% in the period. The industry will tell you anywhere from 10-30% is typical. If you work in large office environments there is a constant stream of potlucks, party planning and gift exchanges. Really gets annoying after the last week in November.
