Depends how define child. I have had to look up to talk to some 14y/o and I am of average build. Forfeiting your right to self protection when attacked by a pack of feral beasts is not any way to stay alive. I doubt these were some overgrown toddlers on their way home from day care. Someone recently boarded a school bus after kids threw things at his car and most FReepers were agast that he’d (A) challenge kids and (B) be permitted anywhere near them.

He reportedly noted AFTER he boarded that he had a gun but did not do anything (or even wave it) and there was a manhunt for the driver.

If you have 8 6th graders assaulting you, you may just have to “take it” and put some ice on it later. Or else face having Al Sharpton on your property protesting you as a bigot a child abuser.

I know a girl who was carjacked by a group of thugs and the gunman was a 14 year old with a cold stare and a sawed off shotgun.

Kids can kill but society has looked down on self-defense for a generation.
