Whether it was the cause of abolition, or civil rights, or the right to life itself, no movement of conscience can succeed in America that cannot speak to the convictions of religious people.

What a bunch of deceptive claptrap. It is the convictions of "religious people," actually people of faith, that are the wellspring of any true "movement of conscience."

And Mitt Romney spent his entire career undermining those convictions of conscience on which people of faith stand.

We don't need Mitt Romney to speak to them at all. It is our principles that are "speaking to him." And from all appearances, his only response is self-serving lip service to those principles.
