First of the Cold Winter FReeps: Wk 99- Olney,MD 12-01-07: Operation Infinite FReep
Dec. 05,2007

Posted on 12/05/2007 4:54:17 PM PST by trooprally

This weekend was the first of many to come, cold, blistery, windy FReeps in the D.C. area. After a successful, but very cold FReep at Walter Reed, we braved the cold weather in Olney. And cold it was.

Temps we in the low 40s and the wind was blowing around 15 MPH. I know 40s is whimpy by some FReeper's standards, but this is only the beginning of the winter. So we did what we know best, drink a last cup of hot coffee, layer our clothes, resolve ones self and FReep On!!!

FReepers and Lurkers in attendance was small but better than last week. We were: Lurker Bill, Cindy_True_Supporter, PrezUSA222, VictoryNY, [Mrs] Trooprally ([Mrs] T), and myself.

Pics are by [Mrs] T

BELOW LEFT: A FReep is not a FReep without someone like VictoryNY. Her enthuisiam is catching to all who are around her. She sure keeps us warm with her spirit. This pic shows her floating off the concrete. I guess that is one way to keep ones feet warm - don't have contact with the cold concrete. BELOW RIGHT: VictoryNY in her constant cheering for our troops and waving to passing supporters. That's PrezUSA just behind her and Cindy_True_Supporter and me in the back ground.

BELOW LEFT: Lurker Bill waving to passing supporters. The banner behind him is one of two that we put up and it is getting blown. BELOW RIGHT: Cindy_True_Supporter with other banner behind her, billowing in the wind.

BELOW LEFT: PrezUSA222 waving. BELOW RIGHT: Me enjoying a cigar on our right flank.

BELOW LEFT: VictoryNY responding to a passing supporter. BELOW RIGHT: One of our many passing supporters.

JOIN US THIS SATURDAY FOR OUR 100th FREEP IN OLNEY. Set up starts at 10AM, and Freeping starts at 10:30 when the moonbats arrive.

Barfing just thinking about the moonbats, they were out there today.

BELOW LEFT: Moonbats corner. BELOW RIGHT: I wonder where the moonbats dug up this guy. For the past several weeks, this guy has worn a gray sweat shirt with USMC on it. This week he brought this "marine" looking flag. I hope our Legionnaire Glenn (USMC - Iwo Jima) comes out and talks to this guy.

For those wondering, as of 7:30PM, Olney has about 4" of snow on the ground with just a little bit longer of snow fall. Saturday will be in the low 50s, so great weather for our 100th FReep.

Also, one good thing about a slow FReep, it doesn't take so long to write.

REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney
NEW TIME - 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

But a lot of verbal engagement in Olney is always welcome.

Thanks from the Olney gang.

It’s heart warming though when our two Korean War Vets come out on the cold days. But on the freezing cold days they stay home. They once said that they have had enough freezing weather.

Thinking about it with all the trouble your giving on another thread. But you are forgiven since you’ll be in Olney and Westminster this Saturday. Good show in buying favors. :-))

Does this mean that war causes global warming, too? And what is the "He dies, they die" sign about?

Thanks for standing in the cold for our heros. A tip for these winter days: thermal underwear (better known as long-johns). They keep you ladies and gentlemen warm and toasty in the coldest weather. Also cover your heads.

Hey, they are MOONBATS after all, what do you expect. No sense in trying to make sense out of their signs.

And the “marine’s” sign actually says, He Lies, They Die. His hand is covering part of it.

Either way, we get more support with our signs and banners than they do.

Thanks for the advice. Some of us already had long johns on (I really hate the cold), a few degrees colder and the ski caps and warmer gloves come on.

It will be in the upper 40s Friday and low 50s on Saturday, so we dodge the cold bullet one more week.

It’s getting cold in Afghanistan so that keeps us going.

How much snow did you get out your way?

Aw, we just got a “teaser” like always. Where we are situated we seldom get extreme weather of any kind. Spring storms come to the river and split up, summer heat waves come to the mountains and dissipate, winter cold waves split north and south of us. Once in a blue moon we will get a flood which doesn’t bother us personally, because we live behind a flood wall. I would like to see some real snow from time to time. Last real snow here was in 93. It’s near 40 today.

You mean the Land of Oz, right? We do feel fortunate to be living in such a great place. Sometimes it is a bit like Oz. We are pretty much isolated from the major problems of urban America. A spat of Meth “factories” which seem to have been controled by the sheriff for the present. He’s pretty much no nonsense like Joe Arpio (sp). We have the feeling of community where everyone knows everyone and nobody has any secrets. Somebody offered me a glass of wine tonight. I laughed and said, “No thank you. If I drank that it would be all over the county before I got home, that the preacher was seen drinking.” LOL. But we love it here. Good people.

Wizard LAND of Oz. Yea :-((

Your community sounds like our home, we know both of each other, bad weather goes around our house, while inside it stays around 75 (did I mention that I don't like the cold?), I drink a glass of rum & coke and then chase [Mrs] T all around the house (Damn she's quick!) and our house is patrolled by [Mrs] Terminator
