Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson: "... I can't think of a job that I had that I wasn't thankful for at the time."

Good answer.

That's exactly right. I've been there and done that myself.

I worked road construction as an asst. to the IDOT engineer. It was hotter than hell, I (being a redhead) was sunburnt all summer long (probably set me up for skin cancer in a few years), and since I had to grab asphalt samples every day, the smell really got to me. To this day, if there's any road construction going on anywhere around me that involves asphalt, my nose picks it up immediately.

I've pulled weeds from a soybean field. Truly back-breaking, and I was a young teenager at the time.

I've worked the night shift in a fast food joint.

And I still feel like Fred Thompson. Greatful for the jobs when I had them.
