Bizarre.

Just WHO is it that's supporting Huckabee? I don't know anyone who is.

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Wednesday, December 05, 2007

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows a new national leader in the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination. While enjoying an amazing surge, Mike Huckabee has earned support from 20% of Likely Republican Primary Voters nationwide. Three points back, at 17%, is Rudy Giuliani. That’s the lowest level of support ever recorded for Giuliani in the tracking poll and represents a seven-point decline over the past week. Huckabee has gained eight points during the same time frame.

Just as significant as the new leader is the amazingly competitive nature of the race. Five candidates are within ten points of the lead and all five could conceivably become the party’s eventual nominee. In addition to Huckabee and Giuliani, John McCain and Mitt Romney are at 13%, and Fred Thompson is at 10% (see recent daily numbers). In what could become a major moment in the campaign, Romney will give a speech on faith and religion Thursday. Huckabee recently declined to comment on Romney’s faith but did say it was appropriate to discuss religion in a campaign setting.

I find that bizarre as well. I know one guy, and he’s one of those non-analytical evangelicals.

The past few days [maybe four days] Fred Thompson’s numbers were higher, here they are down again. There is a pattern to this. It has happened for weeks. His lowest numbers are in the middle of the week. I find this strange. It does not make sense. The past few days it was 13% and 14% IIRC.

None of the lost support is going to Duncan; he remains mired in also-ran status.

I think LadyNavyVet has got the correct answer.

OK, although I prefer Thompson, I view Huckabee as a trade-up from Giuliani, and to the extent that Huck drives a stake through the heart of the Romney campaign in the fields of Iowa I’m cool with that too.

"Just WHO is it that's supporting Huckabee?"

It's as simple as "ABC"!

(Anyone But Clinton!)

Didja see that over on the Demonrat side, Her Thighness is at her lowest Rasmussen number, ever, at 34%?

At this point I don’t care who tears a hole in the SS Julie Annie. Huckabee isn’t my least favorite, either. So good, now Rudy’s in 2nd place.

Yea. I am begining to wonder how Rasmussen gets their numbers. Seems to me you would have to average their "averaged" numbers to get an accurate result.

Um, how exactly does A Thompson “slide” help Hunter. There are a few others above him, including Ron Paul...

I view Huckabee as a trade-up from Giuliani,

I believe it is step one in keeping rooty-tooty out of the WH.

Now lets see if we can get to step two. NO to the huckster as well.
